voicethread

In simple terms a voice thread is a way for people to talk around videos, pictures etc. It can hold discussions on one page were people can post there own comments, where people can click on people and here there comments. They can type,upload a your own comments through a microphone, web-cam etc. And personally for me I'm not a big fan of the voice thread it seems kind silly to do it over a computer when in class we could do it hands on and i can show them (my students) how to fix it in person or give them a better detail explanation on it instead of over the computer. So if i was going to use a video i would just go and find the DVD for my class and show that to my students instead of using a voice thread then stop it periodically for the students so they could ask questions or so i could explain it better to them

Publisher

I liked all the assignments we did this week. It has been a while since i used publisher but i got the hang of it. I had used it before for my resume and as soon as i started messing with it came back to me. I liked the brochure that was something i never would have thought of for the classroom and i think i will use it when i do become a teacher i think its a great i dead for the parents and students because they both will know about me and have the semesters plan with them so there wont be any confusion. i think i could make lessons plans and notes with publisher and that something i would like to do for my class

Video games answers

1.I think techers sholdnt have to comepte with the technology out there because it is always changing every year is getting better and stronger as long as the teachers are in the loop about the new stuff coming in and out it shouldnt be that big of a problem its being out of the loop all together that would be a problem
2.I think Instant messaging i used more so to let student talk to there friends after school and what not. I thinki it could be used as a teaching tool but it is used more as a recreational tol then anything.I dont think the distract from anything if the student dosent want to listen he isnt going to listen wether on the internet or not.
3.Im more big on this type of teaching synchronous, face-to-face communication because i need one on one facetime with the ppl teaching me and i think text based is fine if you have a question afterword but not during class
4.I think podcasts could work because the student is actually listening to it on there i pod while they are walking to class or w/e they are doing and not just messing around
5.I dont think videogames help you study i see it more as a pastime to do when you are bored and need something to do. I know that there are educational games out there but i dont think they will help. And like i said i have videogames and i dont care if my kids play or not its up to them if they want to play or not

online bookmarks

After reading the website i wouldnt mind using bookmarks to my sites that i need to use. I like the deliscous site becuase it made it very easy to do step by step process and had a video as well.I wouldnt mind using it becuase it would save me a lil time by just clicking on the bookmark to get to where i need to go

excel

As a teacher i would use a spreadsheed becuase it would keep me organized and I would be able to calcultate my grades in the matter of seconds instead of trying to punch numbers in a calculator and keeping up with that everything it would all be on my spreadsheet.

Inspiration assaignmeny

1. I like inspiration in middle school and some of my high school we used it to help out with projects and help us study by making diagrams like the showed in the video to help say what they want. Its also very for younger kids to use as well

2.Wll inspiration would help kids get there ideas together. It would allow them to put there main topic in the middle and be able to branch of from thus letting the kids see that ok from this topic i can branch of here and here. With inspiration they would be able to get there ideas together so they wont get all jumbled up. With the technology it would allow students to see each others there peers works by allowing it to become a website allwoing you the teacher to look at it and give the student feedback whenever but also allows there peers to see it as well

Assaingment:blogs in schools

1. I haven't started using blogs up until now, But a bunch of people i know have there own and I'm beginning to like them because it lets you post what you want and how you fell about a certain topic in either sports,school etc.
2.I think blogs would be very useful in education even more now then ever. With all the technology and computers almost everywhere you go now I'm beginning to like it.you would be able to post all assignments on there and like i hears from Mr.Tyson it would let the parents more involved with the student by knowing what homework they got and just bring the family together.
3.I don't think blogs would be a waste of time because say a student is shy and doesn't want to ask you a question in front of his classmates he could get on the blog ask the teacher and the teacher could respond to him. It would also be another line of communication between the student ,teacher and parent so they all know what is going on and no one is in the dark about things.

My name is Jaime Andres Cervantes but mostly everyone calls me Andres or Dre but i will go w/e. I'm currently a Junior here at Commerce and am currently working on getting my degree in all level Kinesology so i can teach Health in High School and ultimately coach football and wrestling at my old high school of W.T.
